Before I had the coolpix CP990 camera (with excellent macro capability), I never noticed butterflies out on the island, but this year we found some... The D7 was easier to use for these kinds of macroshots because you don´t need to get 2cm away from the butterfly, the D7 stays at least 25cm away... The butterflies were quite small as you will see on another photo later on, but sometimes you could get near enough to take a decent shot, patience is a keyword here. Beautiful aren´t they?
