Minolta D7.

This bumblebee is actually flying, you canīt see the wings - just a blur. Those theorists that argued that the bumblebee just "canīt fly" because it is too heavy for its wings, they were wrong... :-) The recent discoveries of chaos matematics (eg. fractals) can indeed explain why the aerodynamics around the bumblebee wings do not follow the macroworld laws of physics. The small air whirls around and under the bumblebee wings create a lifting force that makes up for the macroworld lack of lift if one would try to make a 2 meter bumblebee (which would not fly!).

Anyway, it was great fun trying to get photos on them. We spent an hour and we got a handful really (in my humble opinion, donīt take my word for it) nice macros. The amount of details is staggering, you start to look at the world around you with new (macro)eyes.
